Job Title: Sales- Hardscaping

Location: North/Central Virginia

Job Summary:

The salesperson will work to sell hardscaping and outdoor living materials in Central Virginia. Looking for someone with motivation.

Major Responsibilities

  • Sell hardscaping, outdoor living, and other accessories
  • Develop relationships with current customers and potential customers (predominantly contractors) in Central/Northern Virginia territory, including, but not limited to: Harrisonburg, Front Royal, Winchester, Manassas, Fredericksburg, Charlottesville, Richmond, Woodbridge to
  • Taking pictures/video of projects both completed and underway
  • Interface with operational and logistics staff to their work and customers
  • Understand our products, our market competition and how to position products to overcome these factors
  • Understand retail business financials to consult with dealers on retail pricing, advertising, promotions and ROI.
  • Quote prices, discuss credit terms and prepare sales contracts for customer orders
  • Utilize any and all marketing tools such as catalogs, brochures and vendor collateral to broaden reach in territory and promote company product
  • Research and analyze customer needs and demands based on market information
  • Investigate and resolve customer claims/problems with deliveries, returns and credits
  • Assist customers by providing knowledge and training company products to their field labor, to ensure personnel is able to present product and negotiate well with consumers
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of company's delivery schedules.
  • Review and analyze various sales reports to identify sales potential with current customers and potential new customers
  • Attend trade shows throughout the year as required
  • Travel 30% - 60% locally.
  • Perform additional duties as required and or requested.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated
    • We can teach you hardscaping, we can't teach drive
    • Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
    • Ability to determine solutions for customers.
    • Confidence and motivation to work toward targets
    • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving
  • Basic Business/People Skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Intermediate computer proficiency.
    • Good organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to internally coordinate with sales staff scattered across the corporate locations.
  • Valid driver's license.

Desired Skills/Abilities

  • Hardscaping Product knowledge
  • Two (2) plus years' experience in channel distribution sales
  • Minimum of 2 years of related industry experience; natural stone, hardscaping, landscaping or hard flooring industries.
  • Minimum 2 years of outside B2B sales experience.
  • Ability to speak and write Spanish

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent
