We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and hydraulic experience, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Perform preventive maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and trucks
- Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and safety concerns
- Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- Respond to breakdowns in the field or shop as needed
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- OEM certifications (CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, etc.)
- Welding and fabrication experience
- ASE or equivalent certification
- Field service experience
