Staff Accountant
Position Overview
The Property Accountant will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our organization, focusing primarily on the management of financial data related to commercial real estate. This position will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, ensuring accurate budget management, and supporting the leasing process through detailed CAM reporting and lease abstracting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial reports for CAM budgets and other reporting requirements
- Conduct lease abstracting to summarize lease agreements and obligations
- Assist in the preparation of annual CAM budgets and reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end financial close processes
- Collaborate with property management and leasing teams to ensure financial accuracy
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in commercial real estate
- Strong knowledge of CAM reporting and budgeting processes
- Proficiency in lease abstracting techniques
- Familiarity with commercial real estate financial practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Experience with Yardi is a plus
