Who you are:
Bachelors degree in engineering or related discipline
5+ years of experience in Aerospace and Defense
Experience working with aerospace/defense subcontractors
Experience with ITAR and EAR compliance
DFAR/FAR regulations
What you will be doing:
Provide expert guidance and direction for all aspects of contract management, including prompt client and program support, vendor subcontract management, compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Support development of company strategic vision and initiatives and participate in leadership meetings.
Lead strategic and tactical initiatives for the Contracts team while managing day-to-day operational activities and contractual obligations.
Develop, mentor and lead the Contract team and meet annual organizational and departmental goals.
Develop self and others by demonstrating strong leadership presence, seeking and providing feedback and coaching.
Act as a decisive leader, giving clear guidance and direction to the team.
Partner with company leaders to drive behaviors and actions that achieve contract department objectives and business goals.
Monitor department expenses in accordance with budgetary objectives and hold departmental costs within guidelines.
Organize, prioritize, and allocate department work assignments of assigned responsibilities.
Lead key negotiations with customers, draft complex agreements, and redline terms and conditions and contracts as required.
Establish and maintain positive customer, vendor and internal team relationships that are professional, courteous, and credible manner to enhance the opportunity for continued and increased business.
Ensure contract agreements accurately reflect final negotiations, contact reviews are conducted on timely basis and contractual documentation is filed correctly on company resources.
Manage contracts to ensure full compliance with contract terms, and conformance with policies, practices and standards to meet business objectives and compliance with customer specifications and government regulations.
Review and ensure proper development of contractual flow down documents for internal and subcontractor use.
Advises business development personnel, senior management and the bid/proposal team of potential conflicts and liabilities and assists or leads customer negotiations accordingly.
Solve and mitigate issues regarding risk, profit, contractual provisions, and client expectations.
Lead and support proposal activities including analyzing solicitations, preparing summaries, developing strategies and recommendations, assigning internal activities, ensuring timely completion and accuracy, and presenting to management.
Ensure compliance to a variety of regulatory and contractual obligations, including ITAR, export, and DFAR/FAR compliance, and act as an Empowered Official.
Oversee company export compliance, determine product classifications per the ML and CCA, submit and manage applications with the Department of State and Department of Defense.
Effectively manage client and subcontract change control, monitor and update NDA status with multiple vendors, and ensure timely submittal and archiving of data transmittals.
Responsible for ensuring success of Contract team compliance with company quality assurance practices, AS9100 renewal, and continuously developing or improving contract team procedures, policies and work instructions.
Participate in monthly Program Management Reviews (PMRs) and quarterly Quality Management Reviews (QMRs).
May support other company contractual agreements directly or in partnership with outside counsel such as lease or real estate transactions, patent filings and annual corporate bylaws and meeting obligations.
Ensure department compliance to human resource, quality assurance, and government regulatory and legal policies and procedures.
Report and present overall group project status to internal company management and other necessary departments.
Overseeing tracking of contract financial position, which may include timely submission of deliverables and invoices, program hours, assessing insurance coverage, and related activities
