Director of Manufacturing Operations

We are partnering with our client to hire an experienced Vice President of Manufacturing Operations to lead operational functions within a growing custom manufacturing organization. This role oversees Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Planning, Maintenance, Logistics, and Human Resources, with a focus on driving productivity, accountability, and on-time delivery.

\n

Reporting to executive leadership, the VP of Operations will lead cross-functional teams, improve operational performance, and ensure scalable processes in a fast-paced, ERP-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Lead daily operations across Engineering, Manufacturing, Scheduling, Maintenance, Logistics, and HR.
  • \n

  • Drive on-time delivery, productivity improvements, and equipment uptime.
  • \n

  • Establish performance expectations and hold leaders accountable for results.
  • \n

  • Develop supervisors and build organizational strength.
  • \n

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, downtime, and inefficiencies.
  • \n

  • Oversee ERP-driven production planning, scheduling, and operational processes.
  • \n

  • Manage engineering, maintenance, and operational projects to successful completion.
  • \n

Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • \n

  • 8+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience.
  • \n

  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume, make-to-order, or configure-to-order manufacturing environments.
  • \n

  • Experience within machining, metal fabrication, steel, or industrial manufacturing operations.
  • \n

  • Strong background with ERP systems, production planning, and scheduling.
  • \n

  • Proven success improving productivity, OEE, on-time delivery, and operational performance.
  • \n

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • \n

  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
  • \n
