Our organization is in search of a driven, career-focused WARGAME DEVELOPER to become a part of our team in Quantico, VA.

Be at the forefront of the Marine Corps Wargaming Division as we innovate the decision-making landscape. In this position, you will play a crucial role in transitioning from conventional wargaming to a high-fidelity digital future, equipping our nation's senior leaders with advanced tools and insights to influence future force design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and produce high-quality physical player aids and reference materials while guiding their transformation into interactive digital formats.
  • Develop, manage, maintain, and archive simulation databases utilizing government-provided modeling and simulation tools to enhance both tabletop and digital exercises during wargame preparation and execution.
  • Establish an interface for modeling and simulation tools applicable in gameplay, operating complex digital tools during wargame execution, and translating technical outputs into real-time narratives for senior decision-makers.
  • Facilitate the transition from analog play to digital environments, promoting the capabilities and usage of new tools to assist the customer in achieving digital maturity.
  • Collaborate with analysts to create tools that capture player decisions and telemetry across both formats, ensuring robust data is available for post-game analysis.
  • Work alongside designers and developers to refine mechanics that accurately represent Marine Corps capabilities while remaining intuitive and engaging for senior stakeholders, leading the testing and evaluation of game designs prior to gameplay.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in wargaming, military modeling and simulation, or military operations. Alternatively, at least 10 years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Proficiency in graphic design and layout software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, PowerPoint, etc.) to create professional-quality player aids and products.
  • Ability to quickly learn, master, and utilize new software-based modeling and simulation tools.
  • Experience in developing player-facing products, reference guides, or game mechanics manuals.
  • Capability to provide examples of product development work (e.g., reference guides, branded materials, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the transition from analog tabletop exercises (TTX) to integrated digital environments.
  • Experience with government-provided simulation tools such as AFSIM, Command PE, or similar platforms.
  • Previous experience supporting the Marine Corps or other federal wargaming organizations.
  • Ability to conduct research and gather detailed data inputs necessary for game fidelity, coordinating with intelligence branches to capture detailed data for gameplay.
  • Familiarity with both government and commercial game engines.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess a current and active TS/SCI clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable and willing to perform occasional manual labor and warehouse tasks, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
