Qualifications & Skills:

  • Valid Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) with LBS1 endorsement.
  • Experience teaching K-12 Special Education students, or strong student teaching/internship prep.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly, setting positive, inclusive classroom culture.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across teams and with families.
  • Comfortable utilizing digital tools for instruction and documentation (for virtual candidates).
  • Commitment to individualized instruction and IEP implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to K-12 students with individualized needs.
  • Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by state and district guidelines.
  • Consult regularly with educators, support staff, and families to ensure student success.
  • Utilize technology effectively for instruction and student progress tracking (virtual setting).
  • Foster a safe, inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and confidence.
