Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) with LBS1 endorsement.
- Experience teaching K-12 Special Education students, or strong student teaching/internship prep.
- Ability to build rapport quickly, setting positive, inclusive classroom culture.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across teams and with families.
- Comfortable utilizing digital tools for instruction and documentation (for virtual candidates).
- Commitment to individualized instruction and IEP implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to K-12 students with individualized needs.
- Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by state and district guidelines.
- Consult regularly with educators, support staff, and families to ensure student success.
- Utilize technology effectively for instruction and student progress tracking (virtual setting).
- Foster a safe, inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth and confidence.
