The Field Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality, professionalism, and customer satisfaction on all job sites. This role involves conducting on-site inspections, overseeing crew compliance with company standards, resolving issues, and maintaining accurate project documentation. The Field Supervisor is the face of the company in the field and plays a crucial role in upholding the company's reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Site Inspections:
- Ensure crews adhere to company guidelines, including proper apparel, professionalism, and jobsite appearance.
- Inspect all product installations to confirm they meet customer and company quality standards.
Issue Resolution & Problem Solving:
- Proactively identify and resolve issues or challenges on-site, providing effective solutions to maintain project timelines and quality.
Customer Relations:
- Conduct face-to-face meetings with homeowners at the start of each project to set expectations and address concerns.
- Obtain customer signatures on completion forms and follow up on post-installation feedback.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Accurately document project details, including notes and photos, in the CRM system.
- Complete daily job billing, change orders, and production paperwork in a timely manner.
Training & Development:
- Identify recurring issues in the field and assist in training staff on client-specific regulations, policies, and procedures.
Compliance:
- Ensure all construction work complies with local, state, and federal building codes.
Quality Control:
- Perform testing such as adhesion testing and leak diagnosis to maintain quality standards.
- Develop specifications, checklists, and quality standards for ongoing improvement.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain and manage shop inventory to ensure project readiness.
Measurement & Job Scope Accuracy:
- Measure project areas to confirm job scope accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
Customer Satisfaction:
- Actively address and resolve any homeowner concerns during inspections.
- Provide peace of mind with every customer interaction by ensuring professionalism and clear communication.
Performance Metrics (Scorecard):
- Achieve monthly project billing goals.
- Maintain job call-back rates below the specified threshold.
- Ensure a high percentage of jobs completed vs. jobs available.
- Maintain a Customer Satisfaction Score (CSS) of 95% or higher.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or quality assurance role within construction or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and project documentation.
- Ability to manage inventory and maintain quality standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills to handle customer relations effectively.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform site inspections and physically assess job conditions.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in various weather conditions.
- Travel to job sites daily; reliable transportation required.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate project timelines and customer needs.
- Must be able to carry and climb ladders and have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work on a computer.
