Our client is a financial services firm. They seek a temp-to-perm Benefits Service Representative to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Assist plan participants in explaining, calculating, and verifying health benefit eligibility
- Collect participant premium payments and required enrollment documentation for dependent and other coverage
- Prepare benefit packages for newly eligible plan participants
- Explain COBRA continuation coverage and review post-COBRA health benefit options with participants
- Support participants with inquiries related to medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits
- Communicate and coordinate with plan vendors regarding eligibility, coverage, and claims issues
- Interact with state agencies regarding subsidized health premium programs
- Assist participants in understanding 401(k) plan benefits
- Prepare 401(k) plan packets for rollovers and withdrawal requests
- Process pension applications, calculate pension benefits, and communicate survivor and death benefit options
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of experience in benefits administration/call center operations, including significant experience with pension, health, and 401(k) administration, or relevant experience is required
- Experience with multiemployer fund operations and regulatory environments administering pension, health, and 401(k)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of retirement plans and Federal regulations
- Strong knowledge of health plans, Federal and Local regulations, such as ACA and Medicare
- A professional with excellent judgment and a strong work ethic
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial and operating information
