CarePointe, PC is seeking a dedicated and motivated medical assistant to join our dynamic ear, nose and throat practice. Our multidisciplinary ENT practice includes five otolaryngologists, two audiologists, and a nurse practitioner, all committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. Position Overview
Responsible for providing professional clinical care within a medical practice under the direction and supervision of physicians across three locations. Assists with patient assessment, treatment, education, and coordination of care while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepares patients for examination/treatment; interviews patients for vital signs, medical history and physical exam
· Documents clear, complete and accurate information in the electronic medical record
· Assists physicians with in-office procedures under sterile conditions as appropriate
· Schedules patient procedures/surgeries
· Cleans and maintains exam rooms, instruments and equipment
· Obtains pre-certification/authorization for in-office procedures and diagnostic procedures (e.g. CT scan, MRI)
· Triages and responds to telephone calls and messages from patients; facilitates medication requests
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diplomas or general education degree (GED)
- One to two years of experience in a medical practice
- Knowledge, skills and experience with personal computers/software systems
- Demonstrable organizational, communication, interpersonal and multitasking skills
- Empathy and professionalism
- Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations
- Strong work ethic
Preferred:
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Epic EMR experience
