POSITION SUMMARY

The Platform Services Lead is a mission-critical, agile leadership role within the EIDS program. This individual is responsible for managing multidisciplinary vendor teams delivering core platform services that power the Military Health System Information Platform (MIP). The role requires deep familiarity with federal health IT environments, SAFe Agile practices, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration. It is ideally suited for someone who can operate strategically, manage delivery with agility, and serve as a thought partner to senior program leads across the government and prime contractor space.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and Manage Subcontractor Teams

  • Oversee a team of approximately 8 subcontractors across platform services domains, including UI/UX, Data Services, Data Exchange, Cloud Services, and Cyber Services.
  • Balance workloads across subcontractors, ensuring alignment of skill sets and capacity to meet program needs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement without direct authority and among competing priorities.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring professional growth and alignment with program goals.

Drive Program Execution

  • Coordinate the execution of EIDS Platform Services priorities by collaborating with cross-functional leaders and tracking progress on key initiatives.
  • Represent Team BCG to the key government client, acting as a thought partner and supporting strategic and operational decisions.
  • Promote DevSecOps practices and support SAFe ceremonies, enhancing value as a force multiplier for the team and program.
  • Collaborate with vertical product teams to ensure platform services meet their operational and technical needs.
  • Translate delivery goals into platform-level objectives & key results (OKR)s and team backlogs aligned with MIP modernization outcomes

Optimize Processes and Manage Risks

  • Develop and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for team processes and knowledge management.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks and operational inefficiencies across platform services.
  • Implement strategies to improve team performance and streamline workflows.

Communicate with Stakeholders and Lead Special Projects

  • Prepare high-quality briefings, presentations, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between subcontractor teams and government stakeholders, ensuring alignment and transparency.
  • Lead or support special projects and initiatives as delegated by the Operations Line Lead or BCG leadership.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.
  • 10+ years managing delivery teams or subcontractors in matrixed environments.
  • 5+ years in Agile/SAFe environments supporting federal health IT or equivalent.
  • Experience with Jira, GitLab, Confluence, Azure DevOps.
  • U.S. citizen eligible for public trust or DoD clearance.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • 10+ years of experience managing technical platform capabilities (e.g., cloud, data exchange, data services, cyber, or UI/UX platforms) and coordinating their delivery in support of software or data products, ideally within large-scale federal IT or mission environments.
  • SAFe certifications or equivalent experience managing solution trains, agile release trains, and scrum teams.
  • Masters degree in related field.
