Compensation Range: $65-$90/hour
Job Description:
The Health IT Specialist supports healthcare customers by optimizing electronic health record (EHR) workflows, improving patient identification processes, and enabling clinicians to leverage existing EHR capabilities more effectively. This role combines clinical workflow expertise, EHR configuration knowledge, and customer-facing consulting skills to drive adoption and operational improvements.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Meet with healthcare customers to assess current workflows and operational challenges
- Identify gaps and inefficiencies within Epic and Cerner/Oracle environments
- Configure and optimize EHR tools, reports, dashboards, and workflows
- Improve patient identification and patient tracking processes
- Educate clinicians and end users on existing EHR capabilities
- Lead training, enablement, and workflow optimization sessions
- Partner with hospital IT teams to implement solutions
- Track adoption, utilization, and workflow improvements
- Troubleshoot EHR-related workflow challenges
- Support customer activation and ongoing engagement efforts
- Develop repeatable best practices, templates, and playbooks
- Collaborate with internal healthcare solutions and commercial teams
Requirements:
- Must-Haves:
- Clinical Informatics background
- Experience with Epic (build, optimization, configuration)
- Experience with Cerner/Oracle (build, optimization, configuration)
- Strong understanding of patient pathways and clinical workflows
- Experience working directly with hospitals or health systems
- Ability to identify workflow gaps and recommend EHR-based solutions
- Experience training clinicians and end users
- Strong communication, presentation, and consulting skills
- Ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment
- Comfortable traveling up to 25%

- Pharmacist background
- Nursing Informatics experience
- Cardiovascular/Cardiology experience
- Epic certifications
- Reporting Workbench and dashboard experience
- EHR implementation or go-live experience
- Healthcare data analytics experience
