Job Description

Job DescriptionLHH is recruiting a litigation paralegal for a downtown law firm. The paralegal will assist attorneys with subrogation litigation.

Responsibilities

  • Document drafting and management:
  • Draft and finalize legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, and discovery requests, and manage electronic and paper files.
  • Discovery support:
  • Assist with the discovery process by preparing discovery requests and responses, summarizing depositions, and organizing document productions.
  • Trial preparation:
  • Help prepare for hearings and trials by organizing exhibits, coordinating logistics, and preparing witnesses for depositions and testimony.
  • Case management:
  • Track court deadlines, maintain case chronologies, and support attorneys with various administrative and support tasks.
  • Legal research:
  • Conduct legal and factual research on case law, statutes, and other relevant information.

Qualifications

  • Administrative skills:
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills are essential, especially in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legal knowledge:
  • A strong understanding of legal procedures and case law, though a law degree is not required.
  • Technical proficiency:
  • Experience with legal research tools, case management software, and standard office applications like Microsoft Office is often expected.
  • Communication:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to interact with clients, attorneys, and court staff.
  • Detail-oriented:
  • Extreme attention to detail is necessary for tasks like proofreading documents, checking citations, and managing large volumes of information

Pay Details: $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
