We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting attorneys and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our legal practice.
Position Overview
Provide administrative and clerical support across a variety of legal matters. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable managing deadlines, court filings, and case-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
- Assist with drafting and filing litigation documents (including e-filing)
- Maintain and organize case files (physical and electronic)
- Schedule client meetings, court dates, and deadlines
- Track deadlines, court dates, and litigation calendars
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and other parties
- Assist with filing documents (including e-filing when applicable)
- Conduct basic legal research as needed
- Handle general administrative tasks such as answering phones and managing calendars
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a legal or administrative role preferred
- Litigation experience strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- High attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
