Job Description

The Warehouse Worker organizes and operates a small warehouse, supporting service and installation technicians by managing inventory, loading and unloading trucks, and occasionally assisting with product installations. This role combines hands-on warehouse operations with opportunities for travel to help maintain additional warehouse locations.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and operate a small warehouse, ensuring inventory is stored, labeled, and accessible.
  • Load and unload trucks that support service and installation technicians.
  • Operate a sitting forklift safely to move, stack, and retrieve pallets and equipment.
  • Palletize and organize inventory, including machines, components, tools, and related materials.
  • Use basic material handling practices to move products and supplies throughout the warehouse and dock area.
  • Perform general labor tasks such as picking orders, packing, and preparing shipments.
  • Pull orders accurately and stage materials for service and install technicians.
  • Assist with product installations by riding along with install technicians as needed.
  • Coordinate deliveries and prepare inventory in the warehouse both independently and in collaboration with the team.
  • Support inventory control and inventory management activities, including counting, tracking, and organizing stock.
  • Use tools such as RF scanners or similar devices to support order pulling and inventory processes, as applicable.
  • Unload trucks and properly load materials onto pallets or designated storage areas.
  • Travel periodically to additional warehouse locations (such as Omaha or St. Louis) for approximately one week at a time to help maintain, organize, and support those warehouses.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse and dock environment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience operating a sitting forklift in a warehouse or dock environment.
  • Previous warehouse expereince, including loading and unloading trucks.
  • Hands-on experience with pallet stacking, palletizing, and general material handling.
  • Ability to perform inventory control and inventory management tasks.
  • Experience with picking, packing, and order pulling in a warehouse setting.
  • Capability to use RF scanners or similar devices to support inventory and order processing, if required.
  • Valid driving ability to support travel to other warehouse locations when needed.
  • Comfort performing general labor tasks in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to coordinate deliveries and prepare inventory.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Interest in a 90-day contract role with potential for longer-term or permanent employment based on performance.
  • Willingness to travel for approximately one week at a time to support warehouses in other cities, with per diem and housing provided.
  • Mechanical inclination that could support growth into service work over time.
  • Flexibility to assist installation technicians on product installs when needed.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic to help maintain and organize multiple warehouse locations.

Work Environment

Dress is practical and appropriate for a hands-on warehouse setting, with attention to safety and comfort in varying temperatures.

This is a Contract position based out of Independence, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
