Farm Equipment Mechanic
Will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of machinery used in agriculture. This includes tractors, combines, irrigation systems, and various other specialized machines. They ensure that farm equipment is functioning properly, helping to keep agricultural operations running efficiently.
Key responsibilities of farm equipment mechanics include:
- Troubleshooting and Diagnosis:
Using diagnostic tools and their knowledge to identify and pinpoint mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems in farm machinery.
- Repair and Maintenance:
Performing repairs, overhauls, and preventative maintenance on various types of farm equipment, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Component Replacement:
Replacing worn or damaged parts, such as engines, belts, chains, or other components.
- Testing and Adjustments:
Reassembling machinery after repairs and conducting tests to ensure proper functioning, making necessary adjustments.
- Record Keeping:
Maintaining records of repairs, parts used, and other relevant information.
Requirements:
Tools are required, clean driving record and valid license and clean criminal background past 4 years
Education and Training:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- On-the-Job Training:
Junior mechanics gain experience through on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced mechanics.
