Job Description

We are seeking a Production Operator - Industrial to join our team at Purina Animal Nutrition. The role requires safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment, adherence to standard operating procedures, and accurate production reporting. The position works 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays, and requires steel-toe footwear and other PPE.

Responsibilities:

Perform repetitive machine or process operations per prescribed routines and safety guidelines.
Set up, monitor, and adjust equipment and processes as directed.
Operate equipment such as packers, palletizers, forklifts, mixers, and pellet mills.
Record and report accurate production numbers and shift documentation.
Maintain housekeeping and comply with all safety and PPE requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Ability to follow oral and written instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Effective communication in one-on-one and group settings.
Ability to understand, record, and verbalize detailed information accurately.
Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and flexibility.
Basic math skills and solid interpersonal skills.
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and wear required PPE.
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills:

Prior experience in manufacturing or feed/food production environments.
Familiarity with 5S, GMPs, or similar safety and quality systems.

Schedule & Work Environment:

Shift: 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 2 pm to 10 pm. Occasional Saturdays as needed.
Environment: May include periods of heat, cold, dust, and noise.
PPE: Steel-toe boots/shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection required.
