Overview:
Western Environmental is seeking motivated, detail-oriented individuals to join our Controlled Environment Testing Team as Entry-Level Testing Technicians. This is a unique opportunity to build a career in the growing controlled environment industry. Comprehensive training will be provided in testing procedures, environmental monitoring, and critical equipment operation.
About the Role:
Our technicians undergo 618 months of hands-on training to become subject matter experts in controlled environments. After the first year, technicians are sponsored for ISO/IEC 17025 A2LA accreditation, confirming their technical competency. Responsibilities include performance testing, certification, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of controlled environment equipment. This role requires approximately 60% travel to customer sites, including overnight stays and limited weekend work. A high level of professionalism and customer service must be always maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with cleanroom performance testing and 17025-accredited certification procedures
- Execute tests for temperature, humidity, airflow, light, sound, HEPA filter integrity, particle counts, pressure differentials, fume hoods, and bio-safety cabinets
- Support basic equipment maintenance and onsite troubleshooting
- Collaborate with senior technicians and the service manager to complete testing projects
- Maintain a professional appearance and deliver high-level customer service
- Adhere to proper PPE, and cleanroom protocols
- Communicate clearly and accurately while documenting work performed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn technical processes
- Ability to follow procedures and work with precision in regulated environments
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and stand for long periods
- Flexibility to travel to customer sites regularly
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred (Not required) Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a field service setting, cleanroom, or laboratory
- Technical training in HVAC, mechanical systems, or environmental testing
- Interest in pursuing NEBB or CETA certification
