Now Hiring: Legal Assistant
Washington, DC
$90,000 – $110,000 + Overtime
National Law Firm
In office for 90 days and then one day a week remote.
A well-established national law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support attorneys in its Washington, DC office. This role provides administrative and legal support across multiple practice groups, with a focus on federal regulatory and transactional matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced law firm environment and enjoys working closely with attorneys, clients, and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys across multiple practice areas
- Assist with federal regulatory matters, including preparation and submission of filings to agencies such as the SEC, FDA, FTC, and CFIUS
- Prepare and organize documents for regulatory submissions, agency filings, and comment letters
- Track and calendar regulatory deadlines and maintain matter calendars
- Support transactional matters, including due diligence document management and closing coordination
- Prepare signature pages, closing documents, and transaction binders
- Coordinate with clients, co-counsel, regulatory agencies, and other external parties
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel and client calls
- Draft, edit, proofread, and finalize legal correspondence and memoranda
- Maintain organized electronic and physical files and manage document systems
- Open new client/matter files and maintain records in firm systems
- Enter attorney time and assist with monthly billing and prebill review
- Prepare expense reimbursements and track payment status
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or Administrative Assistant in a law firm
- Experience supporting federal regulatory or transactional practices strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
- Experience with billing systems such as Aderant is a plus
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Schedule
Full-time | Monday–Friday
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Overtime may occasionally be required.
