Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification/licensure (state-specific requirements may apply)
- Experience working with middle school students in a resource or inclusive setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and specialized instructional strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and parents
- Flexibility, organization, and a compassionate approach to education
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique strengths and needs
- Provide targeted instruction in a resource classroom to support academic, social, and behavioral growth
- Modify curriculum and deliver differentiated instruction to ensure student success
- Track student progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings
- Consult and collaborate regularly with general education teachers to support inclusion and accommodations
- Communicate with families and caregivers to keep them informed about student progress
- Maintain a safe, positive, and supportive classroom atmosphere
