Opportunity Overview
SD Solutions is seeking highly skilled Management Analysts, Data Analysts, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to provide Criminal and Administrative Investigations Support to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This team will play a critical role in supporting investigative operations by delivering timely, accurate, and defensible written products and deliverables that meet mission-critical needs.
Responsibilities
Investigative Support: Assist CBP in conducting criminal and administrative investigations by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing information.
- Provide background research, case analysis, and investigative documentation to support decision-making.
- Draft reports, memoranda, and findings in compliance with CBP policies and evidentiary standards.
Data Analytics: Collect, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, anomalies, and investigative leads.
- Leverage data visualization tools and dashboards to present findings clearly and defensibly.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with DHS and CBP security requirements.
Program & Case Management Support: Support investigative case management processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain investigative tracking systems, workflows, and performance metrics.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance investigative effectiveness.
Expert Advisory Services: Supply industry consultants and SMEs with expertise in law enforcement, criminal justice, compliance, and forensic analysis.
- Offer guidance on best practices in investigations, data management, and compliance with federal regulations.
- Ensure all written deliverables are accurate, defensible, and responsive to CBP requirements.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred for SMEs/consultants).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven ability to produce high-quality written products under tight timelines.
- 3–7 years of relevant experience supporting law enforcement, intelligence, or administrative investigations (10+ years for SME roles).
- Proven ability to produce high-quality written products under tight timelines.
- Proficiency in data analysis, visualization, and investigative tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau, i2 Analyst's Notebook).
- Strong knowledge of federal investigative processes, evidentiary standards, and compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working directly with CBP, DHS, or other federal law enforcement agencies.
- Familiarity with criminal case management systems and DHS investigative workflows.
- Prior experience supporting inspector general (OIG), internal affairs, or compliance investigations.
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders and investigative teams.
