POSITION SUMMARY:
The Litigation Paralegal supports the Litigation team by assisting attorneys with day-to-day case management and trial preparation. This role performs administrative and clerical tasks, helps maintain organized case files, supports scheduling and calendaring, assists with filings and correspondence, and communicates with clients and stakeholders as needed. The Litigation Paralegal works closely with attorneys and team members in a fast-paced environment and is expected to learn and grow within the litigation workflow.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform secretarial, clerical, and data entry duties in support of litigation matters.
- Maintain attorney calendars and help track deadlines and upcoming case events.
- Schedule depositions, pre-depositions, mediations, meetings, and hearings.
- Manage documents using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe and FileVine.
- E-file legal documents through the State E-Portal System; assist with other filings as needed.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and conferences.
- Draft basic court documents and litigation materials such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and subpoenas under attorney direction.
- Send correspondence to parties and non-parties by email, regular mail, and certified mail.
- Communicate with clients professionally and help route inquiries to the appropriate team member.
- Set up CourtCalls and/or Zoom for hearings and coordinate virtual attendance.
- Support fact-finding projects and maintain complete, well-organized case files.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
- Full-time, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday–Friday.
- 3+ years of litigation or paralegal experience preferred.
- Personal Injury Litigation experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the discovery process is preferred.
- Experience e-filing in state court is preferred; willingness to learn is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and co-workers.
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork oriented with a positive, service-minded approach.
