If so, we have the perfect job for you! The City of Surrey in North Dakota is seeking a dedicated and skilled Police Chief to lead our police department in the right direction!
What You'll Do:
- Provide leadership and direction to the police department
- Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures
- Manage and oversee all law enforcement operations
- Collaborate with other city departments and community organizations
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a law enforcement officer
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Passion for serving and protecting the community

Thorough knowledge of police equipment operations and maintenance.

Thorough knowledge of safety standards and precautions pertaining to the use and operation of police equipment and to law enforcement.

Thorough knowledge of effective managerial and administrative practices, methods, and processes.

Ability to plan, organize, prioritized, coordinate, assign and evaluate the work of all department staff.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Possession of a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field and 5 years of progressively responsible police experience including two years of command level experience equivalent to a Police Lieutenant rank. Desire command level training from either FBINAA, Southern Police Institute Administrative Course or Northwestern University Staff & Command.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid North Dakota driver's license. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid North Dakota Peace Officer's license. Must be bondable and insurable.
