JIRACOR is seeking a qualified Readiness Based Sparing (RBS) Modeling Engineer II to support U.S. Navy lifecycle logistics and readiness initiatives in support of NAVSEALOGCEN programs. The selected candidate will provide engineering, logistics, modeling, simulation, and data analysis support for Readiness Based Sparing (RBS) models utilizing Government-approved tools and methodologies, including OPUS Suite and SIMLOX.
This position supports engineering analysis, provisioning analysis, reliability modeling, technical data review, configuration analysis, and lifecycle sustainment activities for Navy systems and platforms. The RBS Modeling Engineer II will work under general supervision while supporting Technical Instructions (TIs), engineering deliverables, data management, and customer support activities in accordance with contract requirements and Government standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and maintain Readiness Based Sparing (RBS) models utilizing OPUS Suite, SIMLOX, and related Government-approved tools.
- Perform engineering analysis and data mining activities to support lifecycle logistics and sustainment modeling efforts.
- Review technical data packages, engineering drawings, provisioning data, and configuration documentation for adherence to engineering standards and Government requirements.
- Retrieve, analyze, and validate provisioning, maintenance, reliability, demand, failure, and operational data from Government systems and databases.
- Support Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) and Functional Block Diagram (FBD) development activities for system reliability and operational availability analysis.
- Analyze Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability (SM&R) codes and provisioning data to determine onboard spare part candidacy and readiness impacts.
- Develop and maintain model input files, allowance lists, engineering reports, and model results spreadsheets for Government review and approval.
- Execute Monte Carlo simulations and operational availability analyses using Government-approved modeling tools.
- Support quality assurance reviews, technical assessments, and engineering validations of model outputs and technical deliverables.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of technical briefings, engineering reports, and customer deliverables.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), technical meetings, customer reviews, and MARRC-RB support activities.
- Maintain compliance with Government security, cybersecurity, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and data management requirements.
- Support monthly reporting requirements, status tracking, and technical documentation efforts in accordance with contract requirements.
- Coordinate with Program Managers, Senior Engineers, logisticians, Government personnel, and other technical staff to ensure successful task execution.
- Support configuration management, quality management, and lifecycle sustainment activities across multiple Navy and DoD programs.
- Travel CONUS and OCONUS, as required, to support customer meetings, technical reviews, and program execution activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 4–7 years of relevant engineering, logistics, reliability, sustainment, or modeling experience.
- Experience supporting DoD, U.S. Navy, NAVSEA, NAVSUP, or other Federal Government programs.
- Ability to review and interpret technical data packages, engineering drawings, provisioning data, and technical manuals.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with engineering analysis, reliability analysis, or logistics modeling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience with OPUS Suite, SIMLOX, ReMAD, OARS, DECKPLATE, Windchill, Maximo, or similar Government logistics and modeling systems.
- Familiarity with Readiness Based Sparing (RBS), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), FRACAS, or lifecycle sustainment analysis.
- Experience supporting Navy sustainment, provisioning, configuration management, or readiness programs.
- Knowledge of Navy logistics, provisioning, allowance development, or operational availability modeling methodologies.
- Experience with technical report development and Government CDRL deliverables.
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity, OPSEC, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) handling requirements.
Security Requirements
This position requires eligibility for access to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and classified information. Employees must comply with all applicable DoD, Navy, cybersecurity, OPSEC, and security requirements. An active or obtainable Secret Security Clearance is required.
Work Environment
- Primarily contractor facility or remote work environment with occasional support at Government facilities.
- Participation in virtual and in-person meetings with Government stakeholders may be required.
- Standard support hours are generally Monday through Friday during Government operating hours.
- Occasional travel may be required in support of customer meetings, reviews, and technical activities.
