Cochrane Supply continues to grow as we seek an Inside Sales Representative at our headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Inside Sales Rep is primarily responsible for processing orders by incoming calls and emails. This position provides a service of orders and technical needs for customers. Other duties include, but not limited to:

  • Keeping track of all orders, lead times & order problems
  • Sales support to Area Market Leaders
  • Gathering & organizing technical data
  • Developing relationships with individual purchasers
  • Communicating sales leads to Area Market Leader
  • Promoting products and services to customers
  • Unpack and check all incoming shipments to the branch
  • Review packing slips for received material
  • Receiving material in accounting & inventory system (Prophet 21)
  • Ship materials via UPS, FedEx, freight, or any shipping method required
  • Direct and stage material in the branch for customer orders
  • Perform cycle counts at regular intervals as directed by the Branch Manager and Purchasing Manager
  • Keep BIN locations up to date in Prophet 21
  • Keep warehouse clean and orderly including breaking down boxes, scheduling recycling & trash pickups
  • Other duties as assigned.


Work Environment & Schedule:

This is a full-time position, working a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday in an office and warehouse environment. Work times vary 7:00a - 5:00p at Cochrane's headquarters in Madison Heights.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Proficient with Windows platforms and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or more on an as needed basis.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations including shipping and receiving.
  • Industry experience in HVAC / Temperature Controls or Building Automation Systems (preferred).
  • HVAC Tech Certificate or other recognition award in related industry (preferred).

  • Ability to quickly learn and retain new concepts.
  • Excellent time and project management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter with ability to initiate action and follow an effort through to completion.
  • Team player and collaborative.


Compensation & Benefits:

This is an hourly paid position, paid bi-weekly, ranging between $18.00 - $24.00 per year. Starting hourly wage is negotiable and based on qualifications experience.
