Job DescriptionJob Title: Diesel Mechanic - $30-$40 Per Hour
Description:
If you’re an experienced diesel mechanic looking for a stable, well-paid role working on heavy equipment, this is the opportunity for you! A reputable equipment and construction-focused organization is seeking skilled Diesel Mechanics to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and mechanical systems on heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, and trucks. This role includes both shop and field work and offers consistent hours, competitive pay, and hands-on technical work with industry-leading equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and mechanical systems on heavy equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on excavators, loaders, dozers, trucks, and fleet vehicles.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues in both shop and field environments.
• Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify equipment failures and determine proper repairs.
• Service and repair engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and major components on Caterpillar and similar heavy equipment.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to guide repair procedures.
Essential Skills:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic (construction or heavy equipment preferred).
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance.
• Hands-on experience working with excavators, loaders, dozers, trucks, and heavy fleet equipment.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic systems and mechanical components.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience servicing Caterpillar and comparable heavy equipment brands.
• Experience in engine and transmission diagnostics and overhauls.
• Experience supporting fleet maintenance operations.
• CDL license is a plus.
Work Environment / Location:
Work is performed in both shop and field settings, servicing heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, and trucks. This role requires comfort working around diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and a physically active workday.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
