Job Overview:
The Help Desk Technician plays a vital role in ensuring seamless IT operations by providing technical support to internal employees, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. This position is responsible for installing and configuring hardware and software, performing routine system maintenance, and assisting users with new technologies. Additionally, the technician contributes to data backup, security management, and user training, fostering a reliable and secure computing environment.
Shift & Schedule Details:
1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
This is an onsite position that requires physical presence and local travel to designated company locations to provide hands-on IT support.
What You'll Do:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and network issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Install, configure, and update hardware, software, and operating systems for optimal performance.
- Provide timely and effective technical support to users via phone, remote access, and onsite assistance.
- Train employees on new technologies and software applications to enhance productivity.
- Perform routine system maintenance and implement preventive measures to optimize IT performance.
- Install and configure antivirus software and security measures to protect against cyber threats.
- Backup and restore data to prevent data loss and support business continuity.
- Repair and replace defective computer hardware components as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of technical issues, resolutions, and user training materials to improve IT support efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and managing Microsoft Office Suite and related applications.
- Strong knowledge of Mac, Windows, and Linux operating systems and the ability to troubleshoot across platforms.
- Experience in computer and printer troubleshooting and repair.
- Proficiency with automation tools and scripting languages to streamline IT operations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for effective user support and documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
