Role Description The AAADM Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Kettering, OH, responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing automatic door systems in accordance with AAADM standards and manufacturer guidelines. Day-to-day tasks include performing diagnostic tests, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring that all automatic doors operate safely and efficiently. The technician will complete service reports, document work performed, and communicate clearly with customers, project managers, and team members about findings, recommendations, and timelines. This role also involves traveling to client sites, adhering to safety protocols, following company procedures, and maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order. The AAADM Technician will collaborate with others on project scheduling, assist with parts ordering, and support continuous improvement initiatives related to service quality and customer experience.\n
Qualifications

  • AAADM certification or eligibility to obtain certification within a defined timeframe, with a strong understanding of automatic door safety standards and best practices.

  • Technical aptitude in mechanical and basic electrical systems, including the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and installation instructions.

  • Experience in door installation, glass and glazing, carpentry, or a related trade; background in commercial building maintenance or construction is beneficial.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose issues on-site and implement effective and safe solutions.

  • Effective communication and customer service skills, including the ability to explain technical information in clear, respectful, and professional language.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple service calls or projects in a workday.
  • \n

  • Comfort with physical work, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various indoor and outdoor environments while following safety protocols.

  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, with willingness to travel to customer locations in and around Kettering, OH.
  • \n

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or trade school experience in related fields is an advantage.
