Position Summary
Lojac, LLC is seeking a dependable and hardworking Hydrovac Swamper/Helper to assist Hydrovac Operators with daily excavation operations. This position provides support on job sites by preparing equipment, handling hoses and tools, maintaining a safe work area, and assisting with non-destructive excavation activities. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, eager to learn, and enjoys working outdoors in a team environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Hydrovac Operator with daily excavation and utility locating operations.
- Handle vacuum and water hoses during excavation.
- Prepare and clean job sites before, during, and after work.
- Load, unload, and organize tools and equipment.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections with the operator.
- Maintain cleanliness of the hydrovac truck and equipment.
- Direct traffic and pedestrians when necessary to ensure a safe work zone.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and customer requirements.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors.
- Perform general labor duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Previous construction, utility, or general labor experience is a plus but not required.
- Willingness to learn hydrovac operations and advance within the company.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting.
- Ability to work around heavy equipment and construction environments.
