Shipping & Receiving / Material Handler
Location: Northeast Houston, TX
Pay: $19.00$21.00 per hour (based on experience) | Weekly Pay
Schedule: MondayFriday, 6:00 AM 4:00 PM
Position Overview
Openwork is partnering with a respected industrial client to hire an experienced Shipping & Receiving / Material Handler. This role plays a key part in daily operations by ensuring materials are received, handled, and shipped accurately and efficiently.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who values consistency, takes pride in their work, and performs well in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities

Inspect and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and condition

Load and unload trucks using forklifts and warehouse equipment

Store and organize materials in designated areas

Pick, pack, and prepare outbound shipments

Complete shipping documentation including bills of lading and packing slips

Move materials throughout the facility to support operations

Maintain accurate inventory and assist with cycle counts

Operate forklifts in a heavy-use environment

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

Work outdoors approximately 70% of the time
Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or material handling
-
Strong forklift experience required

Consistent attendance and reliable work history

Ability to lift and move 50+ pounds regularly

Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Reliable transportation

Basic computer skills

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
