We are a small family dairy farm seeking a motivated Dairy Farm Worker to join our close-knit team of fewer than five people. This hands-on role involves daily care and management of approximately 85-100 dairy cows and 80+ heifers/calves/dry cows, including milking, feeding, and general farm maintenance. The ideal candidate will assist in milking, cleaning, and feeding of livestock, equipment upkeep, and fieldwork using basic tractor operations.
Responsibilities
- Milk dairy cows twice daily
- Feed cows, heifers, dry cows, and young calves using TMR mix
- Clean manure and maintain hygienic living conditions
- Assist with breeding program and heat detection
- Perform fieldwork and operate tractors at a basic level
- Maintain and perform basic repairs on farm equipment
- Provide care for calves and young stock
- Collaborate effectively within a small family farm team
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in dairy farming
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in animal handling and milking procedures
- Knowledge of feeding management and heat detection techniques
- Basic skills in tractor operation and equipment maintenance
- Supporting breeding program activities
- Physical stamina to perform farm duties
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
