Job Description:

The Senior .NET Developer / Team Lead - Core Development Services Team is responsible for guiding a team of developers supporting the Core Development Services applications. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that combines active development with oversight of team deliverables. The Team Lead is expected to lead by example in secure and maintainable development practices, documentation, and testing, while also assigning work, reviewing design and test artifacts, and supporting the growth of a team of developers.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • This position requires working onsite in Alexandria, VA, 5 days per week

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field
  • At minimum 8 years' related work experience developing with .NET framework.
  • Self-starter, able to work well in a team environment and provide team direction.
  • Advanced skill and expertise in .NET software development languages.
  • Experience working with enterprise applications.
  • Experience developing and managing APIs.
  • Experience writing and reviewing design documents.
  • Experience writing and deploying unit tests.
  • Works well in a challenging environment.
  • Strong time and resource management skills.
  • Works well within Agile project management methodology.
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS markup and dynamic markup (jsp, asp, php).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with Azure Dev Ops.

Responsibilities

The Team Lead - Core Development Services Team will:

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to a team of developers.
  • Assign and monitor tasks under the Agile framework in coordination with the Scrum Master.
  • Participate in hands-on development using .NET framework and related technologies.
  • Review source code, design documents, and test plans for quality and security.
  • Support the production environment by helping resolve application errors.
  • Guide team activities to analyze and improve system performance.
  • Ensure consistent use of version control and adherence to SDLC standards.
  • Update and maintain design documentation as needed.
  • Identify and recommend system process improvements.
  • Prepare periodic and ad hoc status reports for department and project managers.
