About the Role
We are partnering with a large, well-known national retailer to hire a SharePoint Website Manager who will support their Enterprise Communications team. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining SharePoint sites that serve as enterprise-wide communication hubs. The ideal candidate combines strong technical SharePoint expertise with thoughtful visual design, user experience awareness, and the ability to create clear, intuitive, and sustainable digital environments. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end creation and management of SharePoint Online sites, ensuring they are visually polished, easy to navigate, and aligned with enterprise communication goals. You will design information architecture, apply strong visual design principles, establish governance standards, streamline outdated content, and develop scalable page templates and site frameworks. You will partner closely with communications leaders, content owners, and IT stakeholders to translate messaging goals into effective digital experiences, while training contributors on standards and documenting processes to support long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage SharePoint sites from concept through launch.
- Develop intuitive, user-centered information architecture.
- Apply visual design principles across layouts, navigation, typography, spacing, and hierarchy.
- Maintain visual consistency with brand standards while improving clarity and usability.
- Create reusable templates, navigation frameworks, and document structures for scalability.
- Implement metadata, permissions, and governance standards.
- Audit existing sites and streamline outdated or duplicative content.
- Translate communication strategies into effective digital experiences.
- Use feedback, analytics, and UX best practices to enhance site performance.
- Train site owners on content standards and governance protocols.
- Document processes, design standards, and governance guidelines.
Qualifications
Required
- 2 or more years of experience building and managing SharePoint Online sites.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, permissions, metadata, and content lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated design proficiency with strong layout, hierarchy, and visual clarity.
- Experience creating user-centered digital experiences in enterprise environments.
- Experience designing communication-focused sites for broad internal audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools.
- Ability to balance technical constraints with thoughtful design.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
- Background in digital design, UX, communications, or a related field.
- Experience supporting corporate or enterprise communications teams.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- Basic knowledge of HTML or CSS for SharePoint customization.
- Experience developing governance models and scalable content frameworks.
