As a Senior Credit Analyst, you will bring clarity to complex decisions. You will help distinguish a manageable risk from an unacceptable one. You will identify opportunities that may not be immediately visible and help structure solutions that are responsible, practical and beneficial. Your work will help to support the bank, support our customers, and help ensure deposits continue to be invested in our local communities.
You will work alongside our experienced lenders to evaluate commercial and agricultural credit relationships. Your essential duties will include:
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and financial projections
- Evaluate commercial and agricultural credit requests
- Exposure to watch list assets, problem loan status reports, and portfolio management.
- Understand each customer's business, goals, and challenges
- Identify credit strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and emerging risks
- Recommend appropriate risk ratings and credit structures
- Collaborate with lenders, accountants and customers
- Present your analysis to loan committees
- Assist with portfolio monitoring, watch-list credits and credit risk reporting
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for an experienced credit professional who wants to apply strong analytical skills to work with our community bank to provide a local impact. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in agribusiness, finance or accounting preferred.
- Preferred minimum of five years’ experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of credit analysis or underwriting.
- Developed experience, knowledge, and training in commercial and agriculture lending activities, terminology, products, and services.
- Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations and other Bank operational policies
- Advanced computer skills to meet production needs of the position, especially proficient in Excel and Word
- Advanced knowledge of accounting/finance concepts, ability to consolidate and interpret financial statement.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to solve difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to independently carry out specific instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties
- Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.

Sauk Valley Bank offers medical, short- term disability, long term disability, life, vision, dental and 401K benefits to all full-time positions. PTO will vary depending on the level of the position. This position is not eligible for incentive.
Salary Range: $25.00 to $43.00 an hour depending on experience
