This role focuses on precision polishing, finishing, chamfering, deburring, and rework operations on high-precision aerospace and defense components in a fast-paced production environment. You work directly from engineering drawings and specifications to achieve exact dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements, using precision measurement tools and following strict quality and safety procedures. The position supports Lean Manufacturing initiatives and requires a strong commitment to accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement on both first and second shift.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex polishing, finishing, chamfering, and deburring operations on metal and aerospace components.
- Work from engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to complete finishing tasks accurately.
- Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain tight dimensional tolerances and required surface finishes on all processed parts.
- Conduct quality inspection and tolerance verification to ensure components meet engineering and customer requirements.
- Repair and rework parts, including performing corrective actions on nonconforming components.
- Apply temporary part markings and other identification methods as required by work instructions.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within the production area.
- Adhere to all quality standards, procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve manufacturing and quality issues.
- Handle polishing, finishing, grinding, and deburring equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform detailed precision work while standing for extended periods to meet production schedules.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience performing polishing and finishing operations on metal or aerospace components.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Proficiency using precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and related equipment.
- Ability to maintain tight dimensional tolerances and critical surface finish requirements.
- Experience with rework, repair, and corrective action processes in a production environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on quality and accuracy.
- Capability to perform chamfering, deburring, grinding, and precision polishing operations.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment with high quality standards.
- Ability to follow established safety and quality procedures reliably and consistently.

- Experience working in aerospace manufacturing or other high-precision production environments.
- Background in quality inspection and tolerance verification for machined or finished parts.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and participation in continuous improvement activities.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Newington, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $66000.00 - $73000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
