Job DescriptionOvernight Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Full-Time or Part-Time (11pm-9am) | Ocean County, NJ

Pay: Starting at $20.20 per hour, with potential earnings up to $24.20 per hour including shift differentials and overtime opportunities

Schedule: Awake overnight shift (11:00 PM–9:00 AM), available as full-time or part-time. Staff are required to remain awake and alert throughout the entire shift. Weekend availability is required.

Overnight Direct Support Professionals play an important role in ensuring residential homes remain secure and well-maintained throughout the night, while providing assistance as needed.

This position is well-suited for someone who is dependable, composed, and committed to delivering consistent care and support during overnight hours.

What You’ll Do

As an Overnight Direct Support Professional, you will provide continuous awake supervision to ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment throughout the overnight hours. Responsibilities include:

• Remain awake, alert, and attentive for the entire duration of the shift
• Complete required hourly check-ins through the time and attendance system
• Respond to resident needs as they arise during the night
• Assist with morning routines, helping individuals prepare for their day
• Maintain a safe, secure, and comfortable home environment, including assigned housekeeping tasks
• Monitor the condition of the home and furnishings and report maintenance concerns promptly
• Provide hands-on support with daily living tasks such as laundry, hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and cleaning
• Administer medications as directed and follow all individualized health, dietary, behavioral, and equipment plans
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and provide crisis support when needed
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, including daily logs, medical records, and communication notes
• Follow each individual’s plan of care, implement assigned goals, and document progress
• Respect and protect the rights, dignity, privacy, and personal choices of all individuals served

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing (no more than 5 points)
• Prior experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
• Ability to work independently, respond appropriately in emergency situations, and exercise good judgment
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting or moving up to 50 lbs., assisting with mobility needs, and completing household or cleaning duties
