Desktop Service Technician

St. Charles Business Technology is looking for a Desktop Service Technician. The successful candidate will meet all of the job requirements and be able to perform all of the listed duties within 1 week of hire, must be a business professional, must meet all of the listed job requirements, and must have a passion for all things IT. Although a college degree is not required, it is preferred. Prior professional IT experience is preferred, but not required. St. Charles Business Technology is an MSP based in St. Charles County, which is our service area. Our work is fast-paced and varied.

Duties Include:

Driving to client locations

Installing desktops, laptops, and other equipment

Ethernet wiring

Providing in-person and phone-based user support

System setup and installation

System assembly

Documenting work

System maintenance

Job Requirements:

Must work on-site, 9am-5pm M-F, with some after-hours and weekend work

Reliable transportation

Ability to put ends on network cables

Familiarity with current Windows desktop OS

Familiarity with current Microsoft Office/365 applications

Ability to replace components on desktops, laptops, and Mac systems

Excellent oral and written communication

Attention to detail

Ability to follow instructions

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Must be able to safely climb a 12-foot fiberglass ladder

Current A+, Net+, Security+, CCST, CCNA, and CCNP certifications are a plus, but not required.
