Wilkes-Barre Golf Club is seeking an energetic, dependable, and eager to learn individual for a Mechanic Apprentice position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in starting a career in golf course equipment maintenance and repair.

Position Summary

The mechanic apprentice will assist with the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of a wide range of golf course turf equipment including gasoline and diesel engines, reel and rotary mowers, tractors, chemical sprayers, utility vehicles, and golf carts. The right candidate will be trained in all aspects of the profession including equipment service, mechanical repair, reel technology, and grinding.

Responsibilities

• Assist with servicing and repairing turf maintenance equipment
• Perform oil changes, air and filter replacements, and greasing of machines
• Help maintain service records and maintenance logs
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
• Learn reel maintenance, grinding, and related shop procedures
• Support the mechanic with day-to-day repair and maintenance needs

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Dependable, hardworking, and motivated attitude
• Vocational/technical school background is a plus
