Step into a pivotal clerical role supporting healthcare initiatives within the educational system near Palm Desert, CA. This full-time contract opportunity will run through the end of June, offering a stable schedule of 40 hours per week. The position is expected to begin in early September, pending board approval.
In this Medi-Cal clerical role, your attention to detail and organizational abilities will ensure the smooth operation of essential processes. The successful candidate will focus on processing Medi-Cal requests, monitoring Medicaid’s random time surveys, and verifying that school staff submit required documentation accurately and on schedule. Routine monthly meetings with Medi-Cal representatives are an integral part of the job, focusing on compliance, procedural accuracy, and timekeeping standards.
Key qualifications and preferred experience:
- Prior experience handling Medi-Cal or Medicaid request processing within an educational or clerical environment
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and track multiple ongoing requests
- Skilled in reviewing and monitoring time surveys, with the confidence to follow up with district staff as needed
- Bilingual Spanish speakers strongly preferred, to support communication with diverse communities
- Ability to coordinate with various team members and ensure timely, accurate data submission
- No special licenses or certifications required—reliability and a deep understanding of Medi-Cal are most important
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and processing Medi-Cal documentation and requests
- Monitoring incoming random time surveys and verifying proper procedures are followed
- Collaborating with staff and SPED candidates to ensure adherence to Medicaid deadlines and guidelines
- Attending monthly meetings to discuss and reinforce processes with Medi-Cal contacts
