Overview

Our client is a leading utility company at the forefront of renewable energy innovation, seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join their Utility Scale Energy Storage team. This critical role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge battery augmentation projects from conception through execution, contributing to the advancement of clean energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead battery augmentation projects from planning through execution phases
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization
• Plan, design, and execute multiple energy storage augmentation projects simultaneously
• Provide engineering oversight and consulting to deliver best-in-class energy storage solutions
• Perform technical due diligence using internal and external data sources
• Solve complex integration challenges involving batteries of differing technologies
• Identify and apply lessons learned to optimize project outcomes
• Implement process countermeasures and standardize work practices
• Create tools to maximize performance and functionality of battery energy storage systems

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field)
• 11-15 years of engineering experience, preferably in energy or utilities
• Experience with utility-scale energy storage systems and battery technologies
• Strong project management and multi-project coordination skills
• Proven problem-solving abilities with complex technical systems
• Experience with renewable energy projects and grid integration
• Excellent analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Attention to detail and process improvement mindset
