Description\n
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and a PA or compact RN license.
Details\n
- \n
- Work on the Progressive Care Stepdown Transitional unit (8 Rose) in a Level I Trauma tertiary care hospital
- Neuro Med/Surg specialty caring for adult patients with CVA, TIA, seizure, and common urinary/respiratory conditions
- 22-bed unit with patient ratios of 5:1 and 6:1
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Uses Mindray vital sign machines, GE EKG, and cardiac monitors
- Charts in EPIC
- Weekend commitment of 2 of every 4 weekends, or 4 of 8 weekend shift days, with straight weekend scheduling available upon request
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required only rarely, if needed

Requirements\n

- Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
- BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale and Swallow Screen certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior neuro nursing experience preferred
- Must demonstrate competency in dysrhythmia recognition and pass a dysrhythmia and math dosage test on day one of orientation
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
- Active Nursys licensure verification required at time of consideration
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance, DHS fingerprinting, FBI/Department of Aging fingerprinting, and PATCH PA State Police Clearance required prior to start

- Provide direct patient care on a busy neuro med/surg stepdown unit within a Level I Trauma Center
- Facility-specific education and training provided during orientation
- Weekly orientation held on Mondays
- Must be available to work holidays as determined during phone screening
- Scrubs of any color permitted; hoodies, t-shirts, graphic apparel, and facial piercings not allowed
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility will be considered local
- Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
