Our cardiology practice is seeking a professional, compassionate, and highly dependable Phlebotomist to join our growing healthcare team.

The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills, excellent patient-care and communication abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and professionalism. This position is ideal for an individual who takes pride in providing an exceptional patient experience while working efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Patient Care & Phlebotomy:
\n
- \n
- Perform outpatient blood draws in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
- Accurately identify patients prior to specimen collection.
- Select appropriate venipuncture sites and perform blood draws using proper technique.
- Follow the appropriate order of draw.
- Properly label specimens at the patient's bedside immediately following collection.
- Apply appropriate dressings following blood collection.
- Follow all PPE, infection-control, sharps-disposal, and biohazard procedures.
- Provide patients with a professional, courteous, and compassionate experience.
- Receive, process, prepare, and appropriately deliver specimens.
- Operate centrifuges and other laboratory equipment according to established procedures.
- Generate collection labels and maintain collection lists.
- Perform laboratory assistant duties as needed.
- Follow established quality-control procedures.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and calibration records.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and communicate inventory needs to Leadership.
- Assist with maintaining an organized and efficient laboratory environment.
- Register patients and assist with related administrative responsibilities.
- Utilize EMR and other computer systems for laboratory and administrative functions.
- Answer telephone calls and appropriately route messages and requests.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, Leadership, and coworkers.
- Assist with routine problem-solving and follow established escalation procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling patient and practice information.
- Support the clinical team with additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer and EMR proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.

- Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality.
- At least 1 year of laboratory experience preferred.
- Previous outpatient facility experience preferred.

The successful candidate must be able to perform the physical duties associated with phlebotomy and laboratory work, including standing, walking, bending, repetitive hand movements, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
