Job Description
We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Retail Store Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our vibrant craft studio, where creativity meets community. This role blends retail excellence, team leadership, and event coordination to deliver a memorable experience for customers of all ages—especially teens, tweens, and young adults exploring digital and handmade crafts.
Key Responsibilities
Store Operations & Customer Experience
- Oversee daily retail operations, ensuring the store is clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience by fostering a welcoming, creative atmosphere
- Monitor inventory, manage product restocking, and coordinate with vendors
- Troubleshoot customer issues and provide solutions with professionalism and empathy
Team Leadership & Staff Scheduling
- Hire, train, and manage part-time retail associates and shift leads
- Create weekly shift schedules and ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and special events
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to build a motivated, creative team
Workshop & Event Coordination
- Assist in planning and executing in-store classes, events, and community partnerships
- Support instructors and facilitators during workshops, ensuring smooth logistics and customer satisfaction
- Promote upcoming events and drive signups in collaboration with the marketing team
Sales & Reporting
- Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and KPIs (e.g., average transaction size, class attendance)
- Track daily sales, class bookings, and customer feedback
- Reconcile transactions with accounting team
Qualifications
- 4+ years of retail management or supervisory experience (craft/creative environment a plus)
- Strong experience with graphic art
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Passion for creativity, crafting, and engaging with young customers
- Proficient with POS systems and scheduling tools (e.g., Square, Shopify, Calendly, Google Workspace)
Bonus if You Have
- Experience running creative workshops or events
- Knowledge of digital design tools (e.g., Cricut, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Visual merchandising skills

Location: Mountain View, CA
Hours: Part-time (approximately 30 - 35 hours per week)
