- Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Service Drive Porter to support daily operations in a busy automotive service department. This position plays a key role in maintaining an organized service drive, assisting service advisors and technicians, and ensuring a smooth customer experience from arrival to departure.
In addition to traditional porter responsibilities, this role will also conduct quick vehicle alignment checks using a moveable alignment inspection system and occasionally assist with customer shuttle transportation.
Key Responsibilities
Service Drive & Vehicle Management

Greet customers upon arrival and assist with directing vehicles into the service drive.

Move vehicles between the service drive, parking areas, and service bays safely and efficiently.

Maintain organization of the service lane, parking areas, and vehicle inventory.

Keep the service drive clean, clear, and presentable at all times.

Assist service advisors and technicians with vehicle staging and retrieval.
Alignment Check Operations

Perform quick alignment inspections using the service drive alignment check machine.

Properly position vehicles on the system and capture alignment readings.

Provide alignment check results to service advisors for review with customers.

Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the alignment check equipment.
Customer Support

Assist customers entering and exiting the service drive.

Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional appearance and attitude.

Help with vehicle pick-up and delivery coordination when needed.
Shuttle Driver Coverage

Fill in for customer shuttle duties as needed.

Safely transport customers to and from designated locations.

Ensure the shuttle vehicle remains clean, fueled, and presentable.
General Support

Assist with lot organization and dealership vehicle movement when required.

Monitor and maintain cleanliness in customer-facing service areas.

Support the service team with additional operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications
-
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles preferred.

Comfortable driving a variety of vehicle types.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Must be able to stand, walk, and move vehicles for extended periods.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to safely enter and exit various vehicle types.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
