Position Title: Java Developer
Location: Albany, NY
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 2+ Years
Work Schedule: 8-hour day, 50/50 hybrid
Pay Rate: $60 to $65 per hour
Description:
The Java Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level applications using Java technologies. The role involves working on complex projects within a collaborative environment, contributing to system design, coding, testing, and deployment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Java, Spring frameworks, microservices, and cloud technologies. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and hands-on development experience in both front-end and back-end technologies.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Level III – More than seven (7) years of experience working on complex projects, with at least two (2) years in a leadership role as a Developer.
- More than seven (7) years of experience as a Java Developer, including strong knowledge of Java/J2EE, object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- More than seven (7) years of experience using popular frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and ORM tools like Hibernate or JPA.
Desirable Qualifications:
- More than seven (7) years of proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
- Over seven (7) years of experience using testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito) and build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of DevOps principles and hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a federal or state government environment — experience with Health and Human Services programs (PA, TA, SNAP, HEAP, Fair Hearings, Child Support, etc.) preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Over seven (7) years of experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and SQL, along with experience in NoSQL databases.
