About the Role:

As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will work closely with clients to help them achieve their goals and live as independently as possible. Your main end result will be to ensure that clients receive the highest quality of care and support, while promoting their health, safety, and well-being. You will be an integral part of a team that is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Experience with behavior management techniques
  • Experience with electronic health records

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide transportation to appointments and community activities
  • Administer medication and monitor health status
  • Assist with meal planning and preparation
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and activities

Skills:

As a Direct Support Professional, you will use excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with clients and their families. You will also use your organizational and time management skills to ensure that clients receive the care and support they need promptly and efficiently. In addition, you will use your problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to address any issues or concerns that may arise. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential in providing our clients the highest quality of care. Finally, your experience and knowledge of behavior management techniques will be invaluable in helping clients achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.
