Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic – Extruder Machine
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair extruder machines and associated equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of extrusion processes, and the ability to ensure machines operate efficiently and safely to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on extruder machines and auxiliary equipment.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on extrusion machinery.

Disassemble, repair, and reassemble components such as screws, barrels, gearboxes, heaters, and dies.

Monitor machine performance and adjust settings as necessary to maintain quality and production targets.

Replace worn parts, bearings, seals, and other components to minimize downtime.

Interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical diagrams for repairs and adjustments.

Perform lubrication and calibration tasks on all moving parts of the extrusion line.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper lockout/tagout procedures during maintenance activities.

Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report major issues to the maintenance supervisor or engineering team.

Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and alignment when required.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED; technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance preferred.

3+ years of experience maintaining extrusion equipment or similar industrial machinery.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical troubleshooting.

Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.

Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in environments with high heat, noise, and moving machinery.

Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
