Job Description
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to Jerk Fry City's recipes, quality standards, and food safety procedures. The ideal candidate is able to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and excellent food quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and portion standards
• Properly season, cook, portion, and plate food items
• Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely
• Prepare ingredients and maintain an organized cooking station
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures
• Maintain proper food handling and storage practices
• Monitor food quality and ensure orders are prepared accurately
• Keep the cooking station, equipment, and surrounding kitchen areas clean and sanitized
• Restock ingredients and supplies as needed
• Assist with food preparation and kitchen duties when needed
• Communicate effectively with other kitchen employees, cashiers, servers, and management
• Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining accuracy and quality
• Follow opening, closing, and cleaning procedures
• Minimize food waste and properly handle leftovers and discarded food
• Report equipment problems, food shortages, or safety concerns to management
• Follow all Jerk Fry City policies and procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management
