We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Cyber Security Engineer, Senior to join our team!


Position Overview

The Lead Cyber Security Engineer, Senior will serve as the single security lead responsible for managing and overseeing cyber security operations across all sites. This individual must have extensive experience in IT systems, cyber defense strategies, and enterprise security operations, and will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with agency cyber security guidelines and regulations.

The Senior Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for leading security initiatives, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring that all security operations and incident response activities are effectively executed. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to design, implement, and monitor secure IT systems across diverse environments.


Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the primary security lead overseeing all cyber security operations across multiple sites.· Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide cyber security solutions aligned with agency guidelines, frameworks, and compliance regulations.· Provide technical support and leadership in monitoring, correlating, identifying, mitigating, managing, tracking, and resolving cyber security incidents.· Develop and maintain incident response processes and ensure effective execution of security protocols.· Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk evaluations to identify potential threats.· Collaborate with IT teams, system administrators, and leadership to implement defense-in-depth strategies.· Establish and maintain documentation for security policies, procedures, and system configurations.· Ensure continuous compliance with federal cybersecurity standards, directives, and security frameworks.· Lead investigations into security breaches and anomalies, producing reports and recommendations for mitigation.· Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to junior cyber security staff and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s preferred).· Meets the minimum requirements of the GSA Labor Category Cyber Security Engineer, Senior, including education/degree and years of experience.· Extensive experience in IT systems, enterprise networks, and end-user environments with expertise in designing and implementing secure systems.· Proven track record in cyber incident response, intrusion detection, malware analysis, and vulnerability management.· Strong knowledge of NIST, FISMA, RMF, and other federal security compliance frameworks.· Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) required within 120 days of onboarding.· Demonstrated leadership in managing large-scale cyber security operations and projects.· Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications· Advanced certifications such as CISM, CISA, CEH, CCSP, or GIAC.· Experience supporting federal agencies, defense, or other highly regulated environments.· Familiarity with cloud security, zero-trust architecture, and advanced endpoint protection tools.· Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Clearance Requirement· Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by the agency.
