About the Role:
The Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) Technician plays a critical role in restoring vehicles to their original condition without compromising the factory paint finish. This position focuses on the precise and skillful removal of minor dents and dings using specialized tools and techniques. The technician works closely with management to assess damage, provide accurate estimates, and deliver high-quality repairs efficiently. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of vehicle body structures are essential to ensure that repairs meet or exceed industry standards. Ultimately, the role contributes to customer satisfaction by providing cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and timely dent repair services across various vehicle makes and models.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience or formal training in paintless dent removal techniques.
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet repair deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification from a recognized PDR training program or association.
- Experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models, including luxury and specialty vehicles.
- Basic knowledge of automotive body repair and paint systems.
- Customer service experience, particularly in an automotive repair or service environment.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles to identify dents and assess the feasibility of paintless dent removal techniques.
- Utilize specialized PDR tools to carefully massage and manipulate metal panels from behind the dent to restore the original shape without damaging the paint.
- Provide accurate repair estimates and communicate effectively regarding the scope and timeline of repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cared for and stored.
- Document repair work and maintain detailed records of services performed for quality control and reporting purposes.
- Stay updated on the latest PDR techniques, tools, and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
